How to listen, and how to get the most from it
Safety first
- Never listen while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that needs your full attention.
- Listen somewhere you can safely relax, sitting or lying down, where you won't be disturbed.
- You stay aware and in control throughout. If you need to respond to something, you'll simply open your eyes and be alert.
- If you have epilepsy, psychosis, a personality disorder, or are being treated for a serious mental health condition, please check with your doctor before using hypnosis recordings.
- If you're pregnant, have a heart condition or any other health concern, our recordings are generally gentle relaxation, but check with your doctor if you're unsure.
- If you feel uncomfortable at any point, open your eyes, take a few breaths, and stop. That's completely fine.
Our recordings are for relaxation and wellbeing. They're not medical treatment and don't replace advice from your GP. If a symptom worries you, or is getting worse, please see your doctor.
Getting the most from it
Listen every day for a few weeks. Relaxation is a skill, and it comes more easily with practice. Most people notice more after a couple of weeks of regular listening than after one go.
Use headphones if you can. They help you shut out the world. For the sleep recordings, sleep headbands or a pillow speaker are more comfortable than earbuds.
Keep the volume low. The voice should be easy to hear, but soft.
Daytime recordings, daytime. Cool and Calm, Calm the Anxious Mind and Clear Mind, Steady Mood count you back up at the end, so you're alert and refreshed. They're best in the day or early evening.
Sleep recordings, bedtime. Deep Sleep Through the Change and Back to Sleep don't count you back up. They fade out so you can drift off. Use them in bed, lights off.
Practise your cue. Each recording teaches a simple cue: a breath, a word, sometimes a touch. Practise it a few times a day when you're already calm. It's like any habit: the more you use it when things are easy, the more natural it feels when things are hard.
Don't try too hard. You don't need to "go under", and you don't need to remember everything you hear. If your mind wanders or you drift off, that's fine. Just let the recording play.

Ten minutes to soften
A short hypnosis session for the middle of a frazzled day. The heat rising, the mind racing, the fuse getting shorter. Ten minutes with your eyes closed, and a simple cue you can use any time after.
